Why We Love Colorless Diamonds
Colorless Diamonds are those stones that do not have visible yellowish tints. According to the Scale of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), colorless diamonds are put in the Colorless grading range and are assigned a letter grade of D (the highest), E or F.
Colorless diamonds go from a range of D (being the highest grade there is which means that there is no color present at all) all the way down to Z which is very yellow. The grades D, E & F fall under the "Colorless" Range G, H, I & J would fall in the "Near Colorless" Range K, L, M would fall under the "Faint" Range, N, O, P, Q, R "Very Light" S-Z "Light.
When it comes to colorless diamonds, pricing gets very tricky as there are many factors that affect pricing like Clarity, Color, Cut, Carat Weight & Fluorescence to just name a few. Thankfully with our many years of gemology & diamond grading expertise, we hand select all of our colorless diamonds to make sure that we only use the highest quality possible, that goes from the very small ones that are used as accents on your rings to larger ones used as the main diamond.
All of our accent colorless diamonds are D-F color (which fall in the colorless color category) and fall under VS clarity. This means that you won't be able to see any characteristics at all with the naked eye. A large amount of the colorless diamonds used out there is more commercial quality, which is low in color and low in clarity. They may look "sparkly" when viewed with all those special lights in a jewelry store but once you take them out they look dull and lifeless.
If you are looking to purchase a colorless diamond piece, we encourage you to set up a time to talk to our team. We want to make you feel at ease that you are selecting the right diamond at the highest quality possible.
